Localization and Mapping

SLAM, HERE HD Live Map data analysis, map visualization

In automated driving applications, localization is the process of estimating the pose of a vehicle in its environment. Localization algorithms use sensor and map data to estimate the position and orientation of vehicles based on sensor readings and map data. You can then use this data to plan driving paths.

Mapping is the process of generating the map data used by localization algorithms. You can obtain map data by importing it from the HERE HD Live Map service. Alternatively, use simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithms to incrementally build a map and estimate the location of a vehicle at the same time.
