Optimizing Vehicle Performance and Fuel Economy through System Level Simulation
Today’s vehicles are vastly more fuel efficient than their predecessors two decades ago. Yet, with increasing fuel prices and the upcoming fuel efficiency standard, fuel economy remains a key challenge for automotive engineers. While technologies such as variable valve timing, turbo-charging, new generation of transmissions promise efficiency improvement, they also add many more design parameters. The traditional method of experimenting with a couple of parameters at a time using prototype vehicles can be time consuming and may leave room for further optimization in the vehicle design.
In this webinar, we will demonstrate a simulation-led design optimization approach that involves
- Building fast and accurate multi-domain system level simulation
- Optimizing the value of key design parameters such as shift schedule and axle ratio
- Speeding up simulation and optimization runs using parallel computing
A Q&A session will follow the presentation and demos.
