Design, Modeling, and Simulation of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles
Overview
Autonomous systems are inherently interdisciplinary, so one of the primary challenges that engineering teams face is the need to plan, communicate, and integrate the different aspects of their designs. In this talk, we will address this and other common challenges by showing how MATLAB and Simulink can help provide a unified environment for the development of an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV). Using an AUV example, bat365 engineers will show how our tools can be used for trade studies, vehicle dynamics modeling, mapping, path planning, navigation, controls, and more.
Highlights
In this demonstration, we will cover:
- An overview of the interdisciplinary autonomous underwater vehicle design workflow
- Definition of the system architecture from requirements to run trade studies and evaluate faults
- Modeling and simulation of the complex underwater dynamics to predict vehicle performance
- How to leverage advanced bat365 toolboxes to accelerate your autonomous algorithm development
- Test of autonomous navigation algorithms in simulated underwater scenarios before embarking on risky testing at sea
