Cummins Assesses System Performance Prior to Production Launch
Brian J. Ouellette, Cummins
Using Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), Cummins is able to reduce diesel engine NOx emission to near-zero levels. With SCR, development engineers need to analyze large volumes of field data to assess system performance prior to production launch to minimize diesel exhaust fluid consumption. To assist in these analyses, Cummins developed NORA (Non-Obvious Relational Awareness) to reduce large-scale data collected in field test vehicles and generate statistical summaries for the engineering community to analyze and determine system performance, seasonal trends, and overall fleet performance. In this video, Brian discusses how using MATLAB® helped Cummins overcome challenges when developing NORA.
